Lonely Bouquets Looking for a Valentine
Hello lovely folks… or dare I say lovers?
After all, we’re all lovers of something or another, right? Whether it’s your sweetheart for whom you live to love, the flowers in your garden, your feathered or furry friends, music, warm summer nights, cozy fireplace cuddles… the list goes on and on, but I believe that we are all lovers at heart.
I was having this very discussion with my flower friends, and they all looked longingly at me as I whispered to them tales of true love. Their petals blushed pink as they giggled with one another about their own silly stories of love. As the giddy giggles subsided, they all turned to me with serious eyes. None of them had known true love. Begging me to let them have a chance at finding true love, I found it difficult to say no. How can you deny those soft, sweet faces?
I gathered them together, arranged them just so, and piled them in the car to head to one of the most romantic towns around… Maastricht!
First up with Lustful Loretta. Don’t let her pale pink ranunculus, snowdrops, pussy willows, cherry branches, viburnum, soft rose tulips, and helleborus fool you… this girly girl is a real party animal! She waited inside a train station photo-booth for true love to find her and bestow her with some smooches.
Hug-able Harriet and Scrumptious Stella decided to pick out some sheltered spots by the train station as well. Sleet was beginning to fall from the skies above, and these two lovely ladies didn’t want to get their petals wet.
Kissable Kate snuggled up to a big bear of a man waiting for the bus. But would he notice her bright red tulips and her sultry snowdrops?
The rest of the flowers decided to venture further into the city with me as I tried to find locations fit for love. What about the Selexyz book store, with its cathedral ceilings and stained glass windows? I couldn’t imagine a more romantic place…
Passionate Penelope snuggled up with a cup of coffee, nestled between tables packed with people. She dreamt of a bookworm peering over his pages, catching a glimpse of her pale pink petals, and falling deeply in love!
Adorable Adelaide and Intense Ivanka both took a more practical approach to finding love. With a steady snow turning the city white, maybe an underground parking lot and a train station bench would offer the greatest chance of finding their special someone?
Proud to have given my flower friends a chance at true love, I ventured back to the car… my red jacket slowly turning as white as the city streets.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that these lovely ladies were lucky in love… hopefully they gave someone a most special Valentine’s Day treat!

…finding one of your beautiful bouquets would be so romantic! Love your stories.
Aww! Thanks so much Elizabeth! :)
Beautiful post as always.I love Lustful Loretta..the snowdrops with the pale pink ranunculus look so pretty!I’m hoping that one lucky day I’ll come across one of your lonely bouquets :)Cassandra xx
Thanks Cassandra! I had a soft spot for Loretta myself… I guess that’s why I put her in the spotlight of the photobooth, tee-hee. I hope the flowers and I can travel to your neck of the woods some day ;)
