A Very Pink Birthday Bouquet
Hey there, guys!
How are you doing today? We had a wet and rainy day, but luckily there were enough dry periods here and there to get some work done in the garden. And it wasn’t all digging and heavy labor… today I got to make a cosmic pink bouquet for a lovely lady named Maria who will be celebrating her birthday tomorrow! Woo-hoo!
What a wonderful excuse to take advantage of the bad weather. Bringing some goodies from the garden inside and molding them into a celebratory arrangement full of a few of my favorite flowers.
For Maria’s birthday bouquet, I used dahlias in all shades of pink, perfectly faded hydrangea heads from my mother-in-law, clematis, achillea, scabiosa, sweet peas, fennel foliage, ornamental grass, and, of course, lots of different cosmos.
For anyone who is curious, the cosmos included in the arrangement were Rubenza cosmos, Psyche pink cosmos, Double Click cosmos, and some mysterious sort of cosmos with large, deep pink flowerheads.
Tied off with some pretty pink silk ribbon, the flowers were ready for a quick photoshoot before heading to their new home in Germany,
It’s a pity that dahlias, despite their timeless beauty, aren’t graced with an attractive perfume. If only they could smell as sweet as roses… but I guess that’s what the sweet peas are for! While the dahlias provided the “ooooh” factor, The lovely fragrance of the sweet peas gave the arrangement just enough “ahhhhh” factor.
It was so much fun handing the flowers over to their new owner! There’s nothing better than seeing someone smile, especially when your flowers can play a part.
I hope you’ll join me in wishing Maria a very happy birthday tomorrow… may the flowers bring you lots of happiness and make your special day all that much more colorful! Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag, Maria! :)
